Food, Nutrition and Health Assistant Professor Yvonne Lamers was recently named Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Human Nutrition and Vitamin Metabolism.
The CRC program stands at the centre of a national strategy to make Canada one of the world’s top countries in research and development. Chair-holders aim to achieve research excellence in engineering and the natural sciences, health sciences, humanities, and social sciences.
Lamers will study the role of B-vitamins in human nutrition with an aim to contributing new insights to the scientific basis of dietary guidelines for health promotion and disease prevention.
