Sustainability. It’s at the core of everything we do at the Faculty of Land and Food Systems; whether it’s helping local schools lighten their ecological footprint or finding ways to improve food safety, our researchers are focused on creating a more sustainable world.
It’s also the reason we chose to create an online Year in Numbers report this year. Choosing not to produce a paper report is one small way we can make an impact. To that end, we are finding new ways–more sustainable ways–to get our message across. Like producing a series of videos shared on our website and through social media. We believe that these videos provide a more compelling story, told by faculty, staff and students themselves, than a traditional annual report.
This Year in Numbers report reflects the state of our Faculty in 2011. It’s a behind-the-scenes glimpse at what keeps us running – from the number of faculty and staff we employ to the amount of research funding we receive. We are a relatively small Faculty, but we are having a big impact. I think these numbers make it clear just how much we manage to accomplish with our available resources.
If, after reading this report, you would like to learn more about us, I invite you to explore our website. It will give you a more complete picture about the important work we do here.
