Thirty undergraduate students from Hong Kong University spent some of their summer at the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC Farm, taking part in a two week program that combined lectures, field visits and hands-on experiential learning.
The Sustainable Farming and Food Systems program gave the students a glimpse of the inner-workings of a sustainable, campus farming operation, as well as insight into the sustainable food production practices used at UBC.
This year was the first time the program was offered. It was considered a great success, thanks in large part to the efforts of Global Partnerships Coordinator Roxana Quinde and Field Education Coordinator Delisa Lewis.
