In late 2011, Mark Bomford took a leave from his role as Director of the UBC Farm to spend a year as the Director of the Yale Sustainable Food Project. After much consideration, Mark has decided to remain at Yale, but will continue to be connected to our Faculty through the UBC Farm steering committee and through his new appointment as Visiting Scientist.
Mark was instrumental in the growth, development and preservation of the UBC Farm in ensuring its current and future role as an active, vibrant and vital entity on the UBC campus landscape. We thank him for his years of service and look forward to his continued input through his role on the steering committee.
The UBC Farm will continue under the direction of Amy Frye. Amy was appointed Acting Director of the Farm in Mark’s absence, and has now officially accepted the role of Director. Amy began her career with the Farm in 2006, working her way from Marketing Coordinator to Programs Manager. She is currently working with Dean Isman and the development team on moving plans for a new Farm Centre forward.
