He is also Scientific Director of Advanced Foods and Materials Canada Inc. (AFM Canada), and the President-elect of the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST).
Yada grew up in Vancouver and received his B.Sc. (Agriculture), and M.Sc. and Ph.D. all from UBC. He began his professional research and teaching career at the University of Guelph in 1984. Throughout his time at Guelph, Yada served as Deputy Chair and Chair of the Department of Food Science from 1995-2000, and Assistant Vice-President Research for Agri-Food Programs in 2000-2001.
“I’m very much looking forward to joining the Faculty of Land and Food Systems this fall,” he said. “The Faculty is addressing issues that are high in the minds of the public and it’s exciting to be part of that.”
