Congratulations to Professor Dan Weary on receiving the 2013/14 Killam Teaching Prize. The award, given annually, recognizes all aspects of outstanding teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Weary, a Professor in our Animal Welfare Program, has been a driving force in undergraduate and graduate education. Dan helped to create the extremely successful Applied Animal Biology major, and has developed and teaches several of the most popular courses including the highly rated “Animal Welfare and the Ethics of Animal Use” (co-taught with David Fraser) and “Research Methods in Applied Animal Biology” (co-taught with Marina von Keyserlingk).
