TerreWeb Program Receives NSERC Grant

UBC TerreWEBGlobal change is one of the most important issues of our time, yet the public and governments have remained unmotivated to make fundamental changes in public behaviour and policy.

In response, a group of UBC researchers led by Drs. Suzanne Simard and Maja Krzic recently established an innovative program to teach Masters and PhD students how to better communicate their global change research.

TerreWeb (Terrestrial Research on Ecosystem & World-wide Education and Broadcast) is a cross-disciplinary graduate program focusing on global change/terrestrial ecosystems research that integrates domain science, behavioural, design and social sciences research, and communications research to develop innovative communication strategies for multiple stakeholders.

Through the TerreWeb program, students will use TV, film, internet, mobile applications and other communications vehicles to connect with the general public and inspire global change.

Funded by NSERC as a Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE), TerreWeb will ultimately contributing to a greener future.
